Simple Things

Since the weather has gotten a little warmer, I've gotten back to doing something I enjoy: playing catch with my oldest son. Not that its anything elaborate. Its just simple. Enjoying the warmer weather, the sound of the ball when it settles in to the leather glove; its all good. And, of course, pretending you're in a game situation, whether its throwing a third strike or catching a fly ball and throwing the player out at the plate. Best of all, just hanging out with my son. What a good time!

Here's to enjoying the simple things in our lives. Often, these are the greatest things as well. May we all remember to enjoy them as often as possible.

Ya' gotta love it, Chris! I marvel at the way my grandchildren can play intently with a stick or a rock, eschewing the expensive battery-powered whiz-bang toys they have received from well-meaning adults. Yes, the simple things in life can be the most rewarding. Is this what Jesus was getting at when He said in Mt ch 6 we should seek God's kingdom 1st, and let the other things go? Kind of a NT 'KISS Principle' (Keep It Simple Sir)!
